The Engineering Department, in conjunction with the Highway Department, has responsibility for the design, construction, and maintenance of County owned assets including roads, bridges, and County-owned buildings. In addition to those functions, it administers Hendricks County’s GIS program, and all plats and subdivisions to be recorded are submitted through the Engineering Department. The Engineering Department assists with drainage issues throughout the County, as well as participating in the review and approval of plats and subdivisions with the Planning and Building Department.
