Human Resources plans, implements and coordinates personnel policies and procedures to comply with local, state and federal employment laws and regulations. Human Resources assist with issues related to new personnel; establish and coordinate personnel policies and procedures; maintain job classification systems; assist with benefit programs; and mediate employee problem resolution. APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCESS FOR MERIT, JAIL, AND RESERVE DEPUTIES

The application process for these positions has changed as of August 1, 2017. The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office has implemented a new application/testing process utilizing the Sheriffs’ Association Testing Program through EMPCO incorporated. Test locations, dates and times are available throughout the region/state. To schedule a test date for one of these positions, go to the website: https://www.empco.net/ind and follow the instructions. There is a fee to take the examination, but the results of this test may be accepted by ALL participating Sheriff’s Offices in Indiana.  For interest in a Merit Deputy position you will take the “Deputy” test.  For interest in a Jail Deputy Position you will take the “Corrections” test.  For interest in a Reserve Deputy Position, you will take the “Deputy” test.  You must complete a profile and schedule and pass the examination in order to be considered for any of these positions.
