It is also the program the IV-D office uses to monitor payments and utilize certain enforcement tools. When payments are not made through ISETS, an arrearage develops and may result in interception of tax refunds, vehicle liens, passport denials, credit bureau reporting and other such enforcement action. Also, if the obligor is body attachment eligible, it may result in a warrant being issued due to noncompliance/nonpayment.
If you wish to pay directly, it is at your own risk and detriment.
Custodial parents who accept direct payments will be dropped from our program.
To the extent the custodial parent is a TANF recipient, he/she has assigned his/her support rights to the State of Indiana. If TANF is being received, then the state is entitled to any support paid by the obligor. The custodial parent cannot collect from both the state and the obligor.
