Health Officer

The County Health Officer is responsible for the protection of the health of the citizens within Hendricks County and is the designated officer, under the laws of the State of Indiana, which governs the organization and operation of the Hendricks County Health Department. His duties include enforcing all applicable public health laws, ordinances and regulations relating to the position and providing public health guidance to the various divisions of the department.

David Stopperich, M.D.ds

Dr. David Stopperich is a board certified Family Practice Physician, practicing in Lizton. He was appointed Hendricks County Health Officer in 2014. In addition to his duties as health officer and family physician, he is also the Medical Director for Partners in Care and is a Wellness Clinic Physician through Hendricks Regional Health. He serves on the Hendricks Regional Health Foundation Board and volunteers as a softball coach for the Avon Junior Athletic Association.
