• Payments are considered timely if:
    • Received in the Treasurer’s office by close of business on the due date.
    • Received in the drop box located on the south side of the Government Center by 6 pm on the due date.
    • Federally postmarked by the due date.
    • Payment online with Invoice Cloud, the 3rd party vendor for the county, by midnight of the due date.
  • If a property is in the tax sale, sheriff’s sale, or applying for a mobile home permit, money orders, personal checks or business checks may be prohibited.

 

  • Electronic Payments – To Pay your tax bill online Click Here. To pay by phone please call 1-855-495-1174. You must have your duplicate number.
    • A convenience fee will be added to your total.
    • If you register online, you can opt in for paperless billing, save your default payment method, sign up for autopay, set up for recurring scheduled payments, and receive reminder notifications.
    • We reserve the right to block tax payers from paying electronically.
  • Mail – Please include your Spring and/or Fall coupon with your payment. Checks must be written in blue or black ink. Mail payments to the address below:

  • Payment is considered on time when postmarked by the U.S. Post office by the due dates. We recommend using certified mailing if mailed on the last day. We will no longer mail receipts; your imaged canceled check will serve as your receipt.
    • Due to accepting post-marked mail, please allow up to two weeks for your payment to be processed.
  • To expedite processing of your payment, please include your spring and/or fall coupon. Do not staple, paperclip or fasten your check to the payment coupon.
  • Per Hendricks County Ordinance, if one taxpayer, title company, or mortgage holder pays for more than ten (10) parcels, they must either us GovTech Services (govtechtaxpro.com) provided by the Hendricks County Treasurer or include the original tax coupon for each parcel for which they are paying.

The treasurer is not responsible for lost mail.

Please double check that all information is correct, improperly filled out checks will be returned. We do not accept stale-dated or post-dated checks.

  • In Person
    • The Treasurer’s office is located on the top floor of the Government Center at 355 South Washington Street #240 Danville IN 46122. Business hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday Through Friday. We are closed on all major holidays, including election days. We also have extended hours of 8:00 am to 6:00 pm on the tax due dates.
      • Please bring your entire statement(s) with you when paying in person.
        • NOTICE: The Treasurer’s office will not be held responsible if you do not have your tax statement or a total with you to make payments. If there is a parcel that goes unpaid it is the taxpayer’s responsibility and does not lie on the responsibility of the treasurer’s office employees.
      • We accept cash (we reserve the right to decline payment in coin), checks, and card (convenience fee will be applied).
      • There is a drop box located on the south side of the Government Center located by door #6. This drop box is checked daily.
    • Local Banks – Only authorized banks can accept ON TIME You MUST present your current Spring and/or Fall coupon along with your payment. The Authorized banks are First Merchants Bank, First National Bank, Hendricks County Bank and Trust, North Salem State Bank and State Bank.
      • Payments are not posted until they are received by the Hendricks County Treasurer.

 

Returned Checks

  • The total amount of posted tax payment(s) will be removed immediately from the parcel or parcels involved if there should be insufficient funds, a stop payment, account closed, return to maker or irregular signature.
    • Per commissioner ordinance 2002-05 a fee of $20.00 plus bank fees will be charged for each returned check not honored by your bank.
