Property taxes are paid a year in arrears in Indiana. Therefore deductions applied for in one year, will not take effect on your property tax bill until the following year. The deadline to file for property tax deductions is December 31st each year. In the case of a closing or refinance that occurs less than 30 days before the end of the year, we may extend that deadline until January 31st.
